General Questions
Sinhala Font Style is a free online tool for previewing, customising, and downloading stylish Sinhala fonts. Type your text, adjust colours and size, generate shareable images, and install fonts — all in one place. It's ideal for designers, students, educators, and creators worldwide.
Yes — 100% free with no login required and no download limits. All fonts, PNG exports, and TTF downloads are gratis. We are supported by non-intrusive ads to keep the service running. Premium features like advanced batch exports may be introduced in future updates, but core tools will always remain free.
As of 2026 we have curated over 1,000 Sinhala fonts — ranging from elegant Kandyan calligraphy styles to modern Unicode display fonts. Our library grows continuously thanks to community contributions and our in-house curation team.
Fonts Downloads
Most fonts in our library are open-source or licensed for personal and commercial use. Legacy fonts such as Kapruka are in the public domain. However, licences vary by font — always check the individual licence note shown on each font's download page before using it in a commercial project.
Absolutely! Visit our Upload Fonts page to submit TTF or OTF files. Our team reviews submissions for quality and authenticity before adding them to the library — with full credit given to the contributor. Community contributions are a key part of how our collection grows.
You can download fonts as TTF files for installation on your device, or export your styled text preview as a PNG image — with or without a background. PNG exports are perfect for social media graphics, invitations, and presentations.
Installing Fonts
Windows: Right-click the TTF file and select "Install" or "Install for all users." macOS: Double-click the file and click "Install Font" in Font Book. Android: Use a font manager app such as iFont or FontFix from the Play Store. Linux: Copy the file to ~/.local/share/fonts/ then run fc-cache -fv. For a full step-by-step walkthrough, see our How to Use guide.
After installing a font, fully close and reopen the application (Word, Photoshop, Canva, etc.) — most apps only load fonts on startup. On Windows you may need to restart the app entirely. If the font still doesn't appear, try restarting your computer to refresh the system font cache.
Previews & Tools
Legacy Sinhala fonts use Roman key mappings rather than Unicode, so the same characters may look different across fonts. Our platform automatically handles this conversion, but if text still appears garbled, make sure you are using an up-to-date version of Chrome or Firefox with Sinhala language support enabled in your OS settings.
Click the "Virtual Keyboard" button on the homepage to open our built-in on-screen Sinhala keyboard. You can also click "Sample" to load a default Sinhala phrase instantly. Alternatively, enable the Sinhala input method in your operating system's language settings and type directly.
Yes. Use the font size slider (20–80 px), the text colour picker, and the background colour picker on the homepage. All previews update in real time across every font in the library — no page reload needed. Your PNG export will reflect all these customisations.
Technical & Troubleshooting
First, try a hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) to clear the browser cache. If the issue persists, open the page in an incognito/private window. Make sure you're on the latest version of Chrome or Firefox. If problems continue, email us at support@sinhalaFontstyle.com with your browser and OS details.
Yes — the site is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. You can preview fonts, adjust customisations, export PNGs, and download TTF files directly from your mobile browser. Pinch to zoom on previews for a closer look.
Check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups or automatic downloads — allow downloads from SinhalaFontStyle.com in your browser settings. On mobile, some browsers require you to confirm the download in a notification. If the issue persists after trying a different browser, please contact us via the Contact Page.
